HomeMy WebLinkAbout1979-1157 - Ordinance - 04/12/1979ORDINANCE NO. 1157 AN ORDINANCE REZONING A 25,000 SQUARE FOOT TRACT AND A 6,250 SQUARE FOOT TRACT OF LAND LYING IN THE ROBERT STEVENSON LEAGUE, IN COLLEGE STATION, BRAZOS COUNTY, TEXAS AND BEING MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE FROM AGRICULTURAL OPEN DISTRICT A-0 TO GENERAL COMMERCIAL DISTRICT C-1. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS: WHEREAS, the City Council held a public hearing in the City Hall at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, April 12, 1979 on the question of rezoning certain areas within the City Limits; AND, WHEREAS, the City Council has determined the following: To rezone or change the classification of a 25,000 square foot tract and a 6,250 square foot tract of land lying and being situated in the Robert Stevenson League, in College Station, Brazos County, Texas and being a portion of the 84 acre tract of land as purchased by Cleveland Royder and Emma Shaw from the heirs of the Adam Royder, and being more particulary described as follows: 25,000 Square Foot tract: As described by deed in Volume 103, Page 266 of the Deed Records of Brazos County, Texas. Beginning at the northwest corner where the New Sulphur Springs Road (Rock Prairie Road) intersects New Highway No. 6, continuing in a northwesterly direction with the line of Highway No. 6 for a distance of 125.0 feet; THENCE N 450 E a distance of 200.0 feet to a point for corner; THENCE S.E. a distance of 125 feet to the northwest line of the New Sulphur Springs Road (Rock Prairie Road); THENCE following the northwest line of the New Sulphur Springs Road (Rock Prairie Road) to the line of Highway No. 6 a distance of 200 feet to the place of BEGINNING and containing 25,000 square feet of land. 6,250 Square Foot tract: As described by deed in Volume 256, Page 452 of the Deed Records of Brazos County, Texas. BEGINNING at a stake in the north boundary line of Sulphur Springs Road (Rock Prairie Road) at a point 200 feet from its junction with Highway No. 6; THENCE in a northwesterly direction for a distance of 125 feet to a stake for corner at the most easterly corner of the tract conveyed to R.B. Bond by deed recorded in Volume 103, page 266 of the Deed Records of Brazos County, Texas; THENCE N 450 E a distance of 50 feet to a point for corner; THENCE N 37022' W a distance of 125 feet to a stake in the north boundary line of said Sulphur Springs Road (Rock Prairie Road); THENCE S 450 W along the line of siad road for a distance of 50 feet to the place of BEGINNING and containing 6,250 square feet of land from Agricultural Open District A-0 to General Commercial District C-1.
