AN ORDINANCE REZONING A 6.21 ACRE TRACT LOCATED IN THE MORGAN RECTOR LEAGUE AND
APPROXIMATELY 300 FEET SOUTH OF STERLING STREET AS DESCRIBED IN THE BODY OF THIS
j ORDINANCE FROM SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT R-1 TO GENERAL COMMERCIAL
DISTRICT C-1.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS:
WHEREAS, the City Council held a public hearing in the Courtroom of the College
Station Police Station at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 14, 1978 on the
question of rezoning certain areas within the City Limits.
AND, WHEREAS, the City Council has determined the following:
To rezone or change the classification of all that 6.21 acre tract of land lying
and being situated in the Morgan Rector League in Brazos County, Texas and being
a part of that 31.66 acre tract of land conveyed to Frank Kahan, et -al, by
Martin W. Leissner, Jr., et-ux, by deed recorded in Volume 325, page 156 of the
Deed Records of Brazos County, Texas, and being more particularly described
as follows:
COMMENCING at an iron rod at the south corner of said 31.66 acre tract, said iron
rod also being in the northeast right-of-way line of Texas Avenue;
THENCE: N 41°43'43" E -- 594.99 feet to an iron rod for the PLACE OF BEGINNING;
THENCE: N 48°03'49" W -- 192.16 feet and N 53°50'35" W - 150.45 feet to an iron
rod for corner;
w THENCE: N 40-47-08" E -- 787.39 feet to an iron rod for corner;
THENCE: S 48°11'30" E -- 354.86 feet to an iron rod for corner;
THENCE: S 41°43'07' W -- 772.88 feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNING and containing
6.21 acres of land, more or less, from Single Family Residential District R-1
to Genreral Commercial District C-1.
And, it is ordained that said change shall be effective immediately.
