AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO SPEED ZONES WHICH
SPECIFICALLY DESIGNATES ADDITIONAL AREAS IN
+ THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION IN WHICH RATES OF
SPEED OF THIRTY (30) MILES PER HOUR OR MORE
ARE AUTHORIZED; RESCINDING ALL PARTS OF ORDI-
NANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND DECLARING
THAT ATTENDANT FACTS NECESSITATE IMMEDIATE
ACTION.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION
SECTION I. That any and all ordinances or parts of ordinances relating
to speed zones on FM 60 in the City of College Station are hereby rescinded,
and the following are additional specifically designated areas in which a
rate of speed of thirty (30) miles per hour or more is authorized.
(a) FM 60, for traffic moving in an easterly direction
for the first 0.940 mile from the west city limit
of College Station the speed limit shall be fifty (50)
miles per hour. For the next 0.200 mile the speed
limit shall be forty-five (45) miles per hour. For
the next 0.425 mile the speed limit shall be forty (40)
miles per hour.
For the next 0.385 mile the speed limit shall be
thirty (30) miles per hour. For the next 0.345
mile the speed limit shall be thirty-five (35)
miles per hour. For the next 0.685 mile the speed
limit shall be forty (40) miles per hour. For the
next 0.465 mile the speed limit shall be forty-five (45)
miles per hour. For the next 0.200 mile the speed limit
shall be fifty (50) miles per hour. For the next 0.445
mile the speed limit shall be fifty-five (55) miles per

hour. For the next 0.200 mile the speed limit shall
be fifty (50) miles per hour. For the next 0.250
mile, to the east frontage road of SH 6, the speed
limit shall be forty (40) miles per hour.
For traffic moving in a westerly direction for the
first 0.280 mile from the east frontage road of SH 6
the speed limit shall be forty (40) miles per hour.
For the next 0.200 mile the speed limit shall be
fifty (50) miles per hour. For the next 0.415 mile
the speed limit shall be fifty-five (55) miles per
hour. For the next 0.200 mile the speed limit shall
be fifty (50) miles per hour. For the next 0.500 mile
the speed limit shall be forty-five (45) miles per
hour. For the next 0.650 mile the speed limit shall
be forty (40) miles per hour. For the next 0.375 mile
the speed limit shall be thirty-five (35) miles
per hour. For the next 0.355 mile the speed limit
shall be thirty (30) miles per hour. For the next
0.425 mile the speed limit shall be forty (40) miles
per hour. For the next 0.200 mile the speed limit
shall be forty-five (45) miles per hour. For the
next 0.940 mile the speed limit shall be fifty (50)
miles per hour to the west city limits of College
Station.

SECTION II: WHEREAS, the preservation of the general welfare of the
public necessitates immediate action, this Ordinance shall be effective
from and after the date of its passage as provided by the Charter of the
City of College Station.
