AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO SPEED ZONES WHICH
SPECIFICALLY DESIGNATES ADDITIONAL AREAS IN
THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION IN WHICH RATES
OF SPEED OF THIRTY (30) MILES PER HOUR OR
MORE ARE AUTHORIZED; RESCINDING ALL PARTS OF
ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND DECIAR-
ING THAT ATTENDANT FACTS NECESSITATE IMMEDIATE
ACTION.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION:
SECTION I. That any and all ordinances or part of ordinances relating to
speed zones on Loop 507 (SH 6 Business Route) in the City of College Station
are hereby rescinded, and the following are additional specifically designat-
ed areas in which a rate of speed of thirty (30) miles per hour or more is
authorized.
(a) Loop 507, for traffic moving in a southerly direction for
the first 1.765 miles from the North City Limit of
College Station, the speed limit shall be forty-five (45)
miles per hour. For the next 0.569 mile the speed limit
shall be fifty (50) miles per hour. For the next 1.694 miles
the speed limit shall be fifty-five (55) miles per hour to
the South City Limits of College Station.
For traffic moving in a northerly direction, for the first
1.210 miles from the South City Limit, the speed limit shall
be fifty-five (55) miles per hour. For the next 1.053 miles
the speed limit shall be fifty (50) miles per hour. For the
next 1.765 miles the speed limit shall be forty-five (45)
miles per hour to the North City Limits of College Station.

SECTION II: WHEREAS, the preservation of the general welfare of the public neces-
sitates immediate action, this Ordinance shall be effective from and after the date
of its passage as provided by the Charter of the City of College Station.
