AN ORDINANCE REZONING THAT CERTAIN 1.122 ACRE TRACT OF LAND IN THE RICHARD CARTER
LEAGUE BEING PART OF LOT 33, D. A. SMITH SUBDIVISION FROM APARTMENT BUILDING
DISTRICT, DISTRICT R-3 TO GENERAL COMMERCIAL DISTRICT, DISTRICT C-1.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS:
WHEREAS, the City Council held a public hearing in the City Hall at 7:00 P.M.
on Wednesday, October 23, 1974 on the question of rezoning certain areas within
the city limits;
AND, WHEREAS, the City Council has determined the following:
To rezone or change the classification of all of that certain tract of land lying
and being situated in the Richard Carter League, Abstract No. 8 of Brazos County,
Texas, and being a part of Lot 33, D. A. Smith Subdivision, City of College Station,
and being more particularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at an iron rod found beside a fence corner marking the southeast corner
of Lot 27 of said addition in the northeast line of Lot 32 of said additon;
THENCE N 40034'36" E along the southeast line of Lot 27 for a distance of 265.77
feet to the southeast corner of the Second Baptist Church of College Station
tract, for corner;
THENCE S 47022'38" E across beforementioned Lot 33 for a distance of 130.98 feet
and corner;
THENCE S 43036'43" W along the southeast line of Lot 33 for a distance of 418.36
feet and corner;
THENCE N 47010'23" W along a line lying 250 feet from and parallel to the north-
east right-of-way line of State Highway No. 6 (Texas Avenue) for a distance
of 99.32 feet and corner;
THENCE N 39014'52" E along the southeast line of Lot 32 for a distance of 152.64
feet to an iron rod, for corner;
THENCE N 48004'13" W along the beformentioned northeast line of Lot 32 for a
distance of 6.85 feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNING, containing 1.122 acres of land,
more or less from Apartment Building District, District R-3 to General Commercial
District, District C-1.
And it is ordained that the said change shall be effective immediately.
