AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR A PUBLIC HEARING ON THE QUESTION OF REZONING
A 3.6 ACRE TRACT OF LAND LOCATED IN THE C. BURNETT LEAGUE, COLLEGE
STATION, BRAZOS COUNTY, TEXAS, FROM SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT,
DISTRICT R-1C, TO HEAVY INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT, DISTRICT M-2, AND MORE PARTI-
CULARLY DESCRIBED BY METES AND BOUNDS IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION,
TEXAS:
WHEREAS, the City Planning and Zoning Commission has recommended that all land de-
scribed herein be rezoned from Single Family Residential District, District R-1C, to
Heavy Industrial District, District M-2,
It is hereby ordered that a public hearing be held at the City Hall in College Station at 7:00
P. M. on Monday, June 25, 1973, on the question of rezoning certain areas within the city
limits as follows:
All`thaticertain tract or parcel of land lying and being situated in the Crawford Burnett
League, Abstract No. 7, College Station, Brazos County, Texas. and being a part of the
20.37 acre tract conveyed to Esel G. Jones, et ux, by O. D. Butler, et ux, in a Partition
Deed recorded in Volume 302, Page 237, of the Deed Records of Brazos County, Texas;
said 20.37 acre tract also being a part of the 91 acre tract of land conveyed to Edsel G.
ihw Jones, et ux, and O. D. Butler, et ux, by Vera E. Owen by deed recorded in Volume 261,
Page 221, of the Deed Records of Brazos County, Texas, and being more particularly de-
scribed as follows:
BEGINNING at an iron rod located at the point of intersection between the southwest right-
of-way line of Old Highway 6 and the southwest right-of-way line of Farm to Market Road 2818;
THENCE along the southwest right-of-way line of Old Highway 6 for the following calls:
S 320 34' 12" E for a distance of 121. 30 feet to a 4" metal pipe for corner;
S 350 08' 12" E for a distance of 215.40 feet to a 4" metal pipe for corner;
S 390 30' 12" E for a distance of 102. 24 feet to an iron rod for corner;
THENCE S 760 45' 24" W for a distance of 312. 50 feet to an iron rod for corner;
THENCE N 430 10' 48" W for a distance of 480.13 feet to an iron rod for corner, said point
also lying in the souhwest right-of-way line of Dowling Road;
THENCE N 430 59' 00" E along the southwest right-of-way line of Dowling, Road for a
distance of 150. 00 feet to an iron rod for corner, said corner lying in the southwest right-
of-way line of Farm to Market Road 2818;
THENCE S 830 56' 30" E along the southwest right-of-way line of Farm to Market Road 2818
for a distance of 276. 00 feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNING AND CONTAINING 3. 6 acres of
land, more or less from Single Family Residential District, District R-1C, to Heavy
Industrial District, District M-2.

Notice of said hearing shall be published in a newspaper of general circulation in the City
of College Station at least three times, the first publication of which shall not be less than
15 days prior to the date fixed for the hearing.
