HomeMy WebLinkAbout1972-0813 - Ordinance - 04/24/1972 r ORDINANCE NO. 813 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR A PUBLIC HEARING ON THE QUESTION OF REZONING A 3.40 ACRE TRACT OF LAND LOCATED IN THE CRAWFORD BURNETT LEAGUE FROM DISTRICT NO. 1, FIRST DWELLING HOUSE DISTRICT TO DISTRICT NO. 4A, NEIGHBOR- HOOD BUSINESS DISTRICT, AND MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED BY METES AND BOUNDS IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS: WHEREAS, the City Planning and Zoning Commission has recommended that all land described herein be rezoned from District No. 1, First Dwelling House District to District No. 4 7A, Neighborhood Business District. It is hereby ordered that a public hearing shall be held at the City Hall in College Station, Texas at 7:00 P.M. on Monday, May 22, 1972, on the question of rezoning certain areas within the city limits as follows: All that tract or parcel of land lying and being situated in the Crawford Burnett League of Brazos County, Texas, and being a part of the 166.57 acre tract conveyed to Area Progress Corporation by Tennie Jones, et al by Deed dated June 1, 1966, and recorded in Volume 256, Page 136, of the Deed Records of Brazos County, Texas, and being further described by metes and bounds as follows: Beginning at a point in the southwest right -of -way line of Welch Boulevard at the east corner of a 10.84 acre tract heretofore zoned as #4 First Business District; Thence S 45 20' 06" E 321.55 feet to the southwest boundary line of said Tennie Jones tract an iron rod for corner; Thence S 44 30' 45" E 476.32 feet to the south corner of said Jones tract; Thence N 45 28' 23" E a distance of 299.84 feet to a point in the southwest right -of- way line of Welch Boulevard. Thence N 41 54' 27" E a distance of 477.59 feet along the right -of -way line to the place of beginning and containing 3.40 acres of land more or less, from District No. 1, First Dwelling House District to District No. 4A, Neighborhood Business District. Notice of said hearing shall be published in a newspaper of general circulation in the City of College Station at least three times, the first publication of which shall not be less than 15 days prior to the date fixed for the hearing.
