AGENDA ITEM NO, 2: Consideration of a height variance request to erect a drilling rig in the name of Inexco Oil Company. Director of Planning Mayo introduced the agenda item and explained the request. He referenced a letter from Mr. Donald A. Robinson, Jr., Assistant Manager, • Easterwood Airport. Mr. Mayo added that the staff recommends approval of this request because the location will pose no problem, and it is a temporary structure. The location of the rig was indicated, and discussion concerning future airport expansion followed. Mr. Fry asked what the distance was from the edge of the runway to the rig. The applicant answered from the audience that it will be 4,600 feet. Mr. Wagner made a motion to approve the height variance to erect a drilling rig in the name of Inexco Oil Company in that it will not be detrimental to the public as it will be temporary and will be lighted as per the F.A.A. regulations and because a strict enforcement would create undue hardship with the following condition: the variance is valid for 90 days only. Mr. Fry seconded the motion, which passed unanimously (4-0). The meeting was adjourned. ATTEST: • Dian Jones, City Secretary
