joined the Navy right out of High School, actually signed a
commitment prior to graduation to go into the service in
October of '67. Went to boot camp in San Diego, California,
then to training near Memphis, Tennessee. Out of Aviation
Fire Control Technician School, I was on the Constellation
and Enterprise aircraft carriers. Was off the coast of Nam
several times, but never even saw any of the land (thank
goodnessj.:-@ I was Honorably discharged in October'71.
have three brothers who were also in the Navy at the same
time (see attached news release).
Richard, class of '62, spent over 2D years. Some of that timE
as a pilot of the A7 tight fighter plane. He flew several
missions over Nam.
I spent about half of my time as brother duty with him in
Lemoore and on the aircraft carriers. He is retired from the
service and living in Jacksonville, Florida.
Thomas (Tom) class of '64, did not actually graduate from
became a Physician Assistant by attending classes in the
Nam, and has six purple hearts. He should have sent you some info concerning his
service.
Lee, class of'68, spent his tour in Kingsville, Texas. He went from boot camp and
training in Jacksonville, Florida, to Kingsville, Texas.
