Victor Robles Greeting Parishioners Louis Garcia, Deacon Santa Teresa del Nino Dios Parish Family, The purpose of our parish directory is to assist each one of our members in becoming better acquainted with our church family. The better we know each other, the deeper our concern for each other will become. The better we know each other, the better we can work and worship together. As you view the pictures, may you be reminded that it is God who first loved you. I have been with you at Santa Teresa Church for two years now, and despite the fact that ours is a very large parish with a great deal of work,to do, I am very happy and grateful to God for having sent me to you. Santa Teresa Catholic Church is striving to become a beautiful Christian community where its members joyfully and often partake in the sacrifice of Christ who is present in each sacrament. For two years we have worked and worshipped together, failed and succeeded together, rejoiced and felt sorrow together, and together we continue to grow and become even more Christian. "The community of believers was of one heart and one mind and no one claimed that any of his possessions was his own, but they had everything in common." Acts 4:32 Sincerely yours in Christ, ~;~!' G~ . / ' Rev. Victor G. Robles, S.J. Msgr. F.D. Urbanovsky Served As Priest 1936-1950 Padre Guillermo Buades Born April 24th, 1907 Died January 12th, 1984 Pastor of Santa Teresa Church- Bryan, Texas and Santa Maria Mission- Calvert, Texas 1949-1978 And in service through 1983 Que Descanse En Paz Although it is natural for the children of God to dream and aspire for achievement it is not always possible to make dreams come true. With this realization in mind, we give thanks to God when our dreams do come true. The story of the first beginnings of the Catholic Church can be found in the pages of the New Testament. The story of the beginnings of the Catholic Church in the Bryan/Brazos County area can be traced to St. Joseph Church and the subsequent mission of Espiritu Santo which later became Santa Teresa parish, and has served the Hispanic community since its foundation in 1940. The church is a society of believers in Jesus Christ, who accept his claim to be God Incarnate, his mission to redeem mankind and to make known the fullness of God's revelation. Fortunately, for our people, great faith and hard work have never been lacking, and like many devout Mexican Catholic families the children of Rafael and Elvira Gomez have made their way to help build and worship with the people of God at Santa Teresa Church and Maria de Jesus Gomez de Villarreal, first born daughter, has been no exception. On July of 1988, Maria again demonstrated her benevolence when she made a donation of S 100,000.00 in memory of her late hus- band, Martin Villarreal, in order to build the priest's residence. We therefore give thanks to the overwhelming generosity and thought for the provision of funds to make this dream come true.
