BOX 9960 1101 TEXAS AVENUE COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS 77840 -9960 111 (409) 764 -3515 As you know your home has been designated as a Historical House by the College Station Historical Preservation Committee. It was agreed that every house moved from the campus automatically qualifies for historical house designation. Your home falls into that category. Any other house or structure over 50 years old is eligible for consideration as well. You may or may not be aware of the Historical House Brochure that has been put together for self guided tours of these historical houses. The brochure includes your home as it was designated as a historical house. I have included a brochure with this letter for your information. I also want to let you know about the Historical Marker Program. This is a new project of the Historical Preservation Committee. Once a facility has been designated as a Historic House or Building the owner(s) may then apply for a Historical Marker that would be placed on their home. I have included an application form for the program which lists the criteria should you be interested. I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to a special ceremony March 20, 1991 at 2:30 pm at the Cafe Eccell Restaurant in College Station. We will be honoring and unveiling Historical Markers for the first Historic Building and House. This will be an opportunity for you to see the markers, meet other Historic Home Owners, and be recognized as an Historic House Owner. Please do not hesitate to call if I can be of any other assistance to you. Again congratulations and we hope to see you at Cafe Eccell on March 20th. atMaRiu Linda Waltman Recreation Superintendent City of College Station Historic Preservation Committee 4 :. ^ - _. . . .. :r- •^++fir•- .r.+--- :n••i.'. ;' -T.. .. -. .,.- '.z.... _r_ Welcome Remarks Presentation of Historical Markers Refreshments The Cijy Of Coliege Station And The College Station Historic Preservation Committee Would Like To Cordially Invite You To Attend A Special Ceremony In Recognition Of The First College Station Historic Building And Home In Addition To The Presentation Of Historical Markets ON WEDNESDAY, MARCH 20, 1991 AT 2:30 PM CAFE ECiiLL 101 CHURCHAVENUB COTLFGE STATION, TEXAS PROGRAM 'l_J \. /.. .i 'l. .) ...
