HomeMy WebLinkAbout11/15/05 Minutes Olivia Burnside - Minutes November 15, 2005.doc 1 MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING BRYAN + COLLEGE STATION PUBLIC LIBRARY SYSTEM ADVISORY BOARD NOVEMBER 15, 2005 TH On the 15 day of November 2005, the Bryan + College Station Public Library Advisory Board of the cities of Bryan and College Station, Texas, met in a regular scheduled meeting at the Carnegie History Center, 111 South Main, Bryan, Texas and the following members were present: 1. Also present were Mrs. Clara Mounce, Community Librarian; Mrs. Laura Mills, Secretary; Bruce Albright of the City of College Station . 3. Larry Ringer called the meeting to order at 5:15 p.m. 4. The minutes for September 20, 2005 were approved as distributed. 5. The monthly stats for September and October 2005 were discussed. Parking was significantly reduced at Bryan due to the street construction which may account for reduced circulation stats at that location. 6. There was no old business. 7. A. In new business, a copy of the Intergovernmental contract between Bryan and College Station was distributed to the Board Members. B. Mrs. Mounce provided a hand out for stats for the Annual Report. 8. In the librarian’s report, Mrs. Mounce stated that the Print Management System for the internet computers was working well. The next part of the program would be the Reservation Station whereby patrons will use their own library card to log onto the computers . Bryan and Larry Ringer Libraries will go online for the reservation system in December. The Gates foundation has alerted us that the libraries are eligible for free replacements for computers with software included. The updates should occur in 2006. Larry Ringer notified the board that on March 4, 2006, the Friends of the Library will host a luncheon at Pebble Creek County Club honoring Clara Mounce’s 25+ years as Community Librarian. The library’s website and the City of College Station offered an online survey for citizens to comment on current and future library services. 9. Agenda items for the next meeting scheduled for January 17, 2006 at the Larry Ringer Library includes the ele ction of officers. 10.
