ERMA FAYE HEADS JEFFERSON
June 8, 1940 - March 11, 2006
Erma Faye Heads Jefferson
was born June 8, 1940 to
Ella Mae Loud and Tommie
Heads Sr. She was the oldest
child. She received her early
education at John M. Moore.
She joined New Liberty
Baptist Church at a early age.
Even as a child she showed
her love of public speaking.
Then at E.A. Kemp she was
valedictorian and editor of
the Annual, and president
of the student council. As a
young adult she showed her love of politics. She was voter register.
She also served on numerous boards and clubs and organizations.
\Erma was a frequent writer to Letter to the Editor printed in the
Bryan Eagle. She devoted her life to serving the Lord and working
to help others. She was a metpber and co-founders of the Coalition
of Black Democrats. She was Outstanding Women of the Year
for Brazos County in 1983. She received honorable mention in
both Women Who Did, And Black Women Who Did. She. was a I
devoted member of Allen Chapel Methodist Church. She leaves to
cherish her memories: her son Lawrence Gene Heads, her daughter
Ella Denise Foster, two brothers Tommie Heads III of Lancaster,
California, Rev. Charles Heads Jr. of Houston, Texas. Five sisters ·
Barbara Ann Spears of Austin, TX, Elise Kaye Harris of Bryan,
TX, Florence Bangley, Bobbie Jean Irvin, Rosetta Mays all of
Houston, Texas. Five grandchildren Latonia Foster, Larry Foster
Jr., LaTasha McMurray, Micheal Garner, Courtney Poole and also
9 great grandchildren.
