AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO SPEED ZONES WHICH SPECIFICALLY
DESIGNATES ADDITIONAL AREAS IN THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION IN
WHICH RATES OF SPEED OF THIRTY (30) MILES PER HOUR OR MORE
ARE AUTHORIZED; RESCINDING ALL PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN
CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND DECLARING THAT ATTENDANT FACTS
NECESSITATE IMMEDIATE ACTION.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION:
SECTION 1. That any and all ordinances or parts of ordinances relating to
speed zones on FM 60 in the City of Colleae Station are hereby rescinded, and
the following are additional specifically designated areas in which a rate of
speed of thirty (30) miles per hour or more is authorized.
A.) FM 60, for traffic moving in an easterly direction for the first 1.373 miles from
the West College Station City Limits, the speed limit shall be sixty-five (65) miles
per hour. For the next 0.960 mile, the speed limit shall be fifty-five (55) miles per
hour. For the next 0.545 mile, the speed limit shall be forty (40) miles per hour.
For the next 0.649 mile, the speed limit shall be thirty-five (35) miles per hour.
For the next 0.776 mile, the speed limit shall be forty (40) miles per hour. For
the next 1.642 miles, the speed limit shall be fifty (50) miles per hour. For the
next 1.696 miles, the speed limit shall be sixty-five (65) miles per hour to the
intersection of FM 158 and FM 60.
B.) FM 60, for traffic moving in a westerly direction for the first 1.696 miles from
the intersection of FM 158 and FM 60, the speed limit shall be sixty-five (65)
miles per hour. For the next 1.642 miles, the speed limit shall be fifty (50) miles
per hour. For the next 0.776 miles, the speed limit shall be forty (40) miles per
hour. For the next 0.649 mile, the speed limit shall be thirty-five miles per hour.
For the next 0.545 mile, the speed limit shall be forty (40) miles per hour. For
the next 0.960 mile, the speed limit shall be fifty-five (55) miles per hour. For the
next 1.373 miles, the speed limit shall be sixty-five (65) miles per hour to the
West College Station City Limits.
SECTION I1: WHEREAS, the preservation of the general welfare of the public
necessitates immediate action, this Ordinance shall be effective from and after
the date of its passage as provided by the Charter of the City of Colle,qe Station
