AN ORDINANCE RENAMING "WALNUT GROVE", AS IT IS CURRENTLY PLATTED WITHIN THE
CITY LIMITS OF COLLEGE STATION, AS "SHADOW OAKS" AND MAKING THE RENAMED STREET
A CONTINUATION OF THE EXISTING STREET CALLED "SHADOW OAKS" WITHIN THE CITY
LIMITS OF COLLEGE STATION.
WHEREAS, the City of College Station has determined that in order to avoid confusion in the delivery of
emergency and postal services, a need exists to establish a single name for the two roadways that form
one continuous thoroughfare, said roadways being currently platted as "Shadow Oaks" and "Walnut
Grove" and
WHEREAS, all of the lots that front on the roadway currently platted as Walnut Grove are undeveloped.
WHEREAS, the property owner of the lots that front onto the roadway currently platted as Walnut Grove
has been notified in writing of the renaming of the street; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the residents of both Shadow Oaks and the said
adjoining Walnut Grove will benefit from the designation of the thoroughfare with a single name because
it reduces the potential of emergency or other vehicles responding to an incorrect address;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE
STATION, TEXAS, that the roadway currently know as "Walnut Grove" be renamed as "Shadow Oaks";
and the City Council of the City of College Station further ordains that this change shall become effective
on the 14th day of December, 1995.
PASS, ADOPTED, and APPROVED this 14th day of December, 1995.
