HomeMy WebLinkAbout1998-2301 - Ordinance - 02/12/1998ORDINANCE NO. 2301 AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND ABANDONING A FIFTEEN-FOOT WIDE ALLEY, WHICH RUNS BETWEEN LOTS 7 & 8 AND 15 & 16, BLOCK 9, WEST PARK ADDITION, IN THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, BRAZOS COUNTY, TEXAS. WHEREAS, the City of College Station has received an Application for the Abandonment of a fifteen-foot wide alley, which runs between Lots 7 & 8 and 15 & 16, Block 9, West Park Addition, in the City of College Station, said alley being more particularly described in Exhibit "A' attached hereto; and WHEREAS, on February 12, 1998, the City Council of the City of College Station, Texas heard the application of Keith E. Clements for the vacation and abandonment of the aforementioned fifteen-foot wide alley, which runs between Lots 7 & 8 and 15 & 16, Block 9, West Park Addition, according to the plat recorded in Volume 102, Page 198, J.E. Scott Survey, A-50, of the Deed of Records of Brazos County, Texas, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS, that the fifteen-foot wide alley, which runs between Lots 7 & 8 and 15 & 16, Block 9, West Park Addition, as described by metes and bounds on Exhibit "A' attached hereto, be abandoned and vacated. PASSED, ADOPTED and APPROVED this 12th day of February, 1998. Scott Survey, A-50 College Station, Brazos County, Texas Field notes of e 1548.97 square foot tract or parcel of land lying and being situated in the J. E. Scott Survey, Abstract No. 50, College Station, Brazos County, Texas, and being that portion of the 15' alley adjoining Lots 7, 8, 15 end 16, Block 9, West Park Addition, according to the plat recorded in Volume 102, Page 198, of the Deed Records of Brazos County, Texas, and being more particularly described es follows: COMMENCING at the ½" Iron pipe found in concrete marking the north corner of Lot 7, Block 9, a %" Iron rod found marking the north corner of Lot 7, Block 6, bears S 45° 00' 00" E - 617.01 feet; THENCE S 45° 00' 00" W along the common line between Lot 7, Block 9, and a 15' alley for a distance of 170.00 feet to a ]~" iron rod set at the west corner of Lot 7, for the PLACE OF BEGINNING of this description, a ~" iron rod found in concrete bears S 44° 32' 00' E - 3.61 feet; THENCE S 35° 40' 27" E along the common line between Lots 7 and 8, and the 15' alley, for a distance of 103.26 feet to a ½" iron rod set at the common corner between Lots 8 and 9, Block 9, same being the north corner of City Ordinance No. 1130, dated September 14, 1978, providing for the release/vacating of a 304.8' long portion of the 15' wide alley lying in Block 9, {no conveyance was found from the city to the adjoining lot owners), a ½" iron rod found bears S 32" 27' 03" W - 1.85 feet, a chain link fence corner bears N 39" 50' 34" W - 5.40 feet; THENCE S 45° 00' 00" W along the northwest line of City Ordinance No. 1130 Alley Closing, crossing said 15' alley, for a distance of 15.20 feet to a ~" iron rod set at the east corner of Lot 16, Block 9, same being the west corner of City Ordinance No. 1130; THENCE N 35" 40' 27" W along the common line between Lots 15 and 16 and the 15' alley, for a distance of 103.26 feet to a ~" iron rod set at the north corner of Lot 15, Block 9, a ~" iron rod found bears S 48" 27' 39" E - 3.92 feet; THENCE N 45" 00' 00" E crossing the 15' alley, for a distance of 15.20 feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNING, containing 1548.97 square feet of land, more or less.
