AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 8, "PERSONNEL", OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS, AND PROVIDING FOR
AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council approved "Standards of Conduct for Public Officials" on October
22, 1998; and
WHEREAS, the "Standards of Conduct for Public Officials" requires the education of several
citizen boards, commissions, and the City Council, and the creation of new forms, processes, and
new Ethics Committee not yet created; now, therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION,
TEXAS:
PART 1: That Chapter 8, "Personnel", of the Code of Ordinances of the City of College
Station, Texas, be amended to delay its effective date until the briefings and
education of the City Council and the following boards and commissions:

Planning and Zoning Commission
Zoning Board of Adjustment
Construction Board of Adjustments and Appeals/Building
Standards Commission
Electrical Examining Board
Parks and Recreation Board
Ethics Review Commission, which will have to be appointed,
and the creation of forms and processes to implement the "Standards of Conduct
of Public Officials" are approved for usage by the City Council of the City of
College Station.
PART 2: That this ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage.
