College Station Parks and Recreation Advisory Board
Tour of the Crowley Tract
Tuesday, January 7, 2003, at 3:00 p.m.
Staff Present: Steve Beachy, Director of Parks and Recreation; Eric Ploeger, Assistant
Director; Pete Vanecek, Senior Park Planner; Spencer Thomspon, Jr., Graduate Civil
Engineer (Development Services); Kristin Lehde, Staff Assistant.
Board Members Present: John Nichols, Chairman; Glen Davis; Bill Davis;
Jodi Warner; Glenn Schroeder; Don Allison.
Board Member Absent: Larry Farnsworth.
Guest: Wallace Phillips, Developer.
1. Convene and call to order: The Board convened at the Central Park Office (1000
Krenek Tap Road). The tour was called to order by Chairman John Nichols at
3:08 p.m.
2. Tour of the Crowley Tract: The Board toured a 5.48-acre tract of land that is being
proposed as neighborhood park land dedication for the Crowley Tract (refer to
minutes from February 13, 2001, and November 12, 2002). The tract of land is
located at the extension of Decautur and Oxburge Drive, west of Highway 6, north of
Greens Prairie Road. The Board also toured an approximate 6-acre detention pond
located in the Castlegate Subdivision that had been discussed as part of the original
proposed dedication.
This item will be placed on the January 14, 2003, agenda for discussion and possible
action. No motion was made during the tour.
3. Adjourn: The tour adjourned at 4:45 p.m.
