Tidwell, instructor in inorganic chemistry in the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, A&M College (1926) 9 Joe John Lancaster purchased the home from H C Tidwell on August 26, 1927 No relation to current Lancaster family. 10 11 Joseph Sayers Mogford ’16 is the third owner of 601 Guernsey Street purchased on June 3, 1929 12 13 Headed to France with 369th Infantry Returning home after Armistice Day Nov 11, 1918 14 15 Mrs. Ruth Mogford was a local artist with exhibits in Waco and San Antonio and taught art classes in College Station. 16 Pat Mogford runs dress company on Mogford ranch. Nita and Manning Smith, well known in square dance circles all over the country, have helped Pat to market the outfits at square dance conventions. 17 Professor Mogford, internationally known for his cotton research and teaching, has retired after 34 years of service in the department of agronomy, Texas A&M College. Mogford’s cotton studies have carried him to many parts of the world. He has studied the cotton breeding programs in Egypt, Peru and all of the southern states of the US and has visited in fiber laboratories and marketing, spinning and weaving research centers in many parts of the world. 18 19 20 Mogford Papers held in the Cushing Library on the campus of Texas A&M University 21 Frank Iver Dahlberg purchased the home from J S Mogford on June 1, 1938 22 After 5 additional owners, A E and Alice Denton purchased 601 Guernsey on May 15, 1953.
