HomeMy WebLinkAbout19770921 RESOLUTION CITY OF COLLEGE STATION WHEREAS, Easterwood Airport serves the Cities of College Station and Bryan and a surrounding five-county area for general aviation as well as scheduled airline service, and; WHEREAS, this area is growing rapidly and requiring more access to airline facilities and general aviation operation, as attested by the fact that last year (September 1, 1976 to August 31, 1977) a record 104,459 take-offs and landings were conducted, representing an increase of nearly twenty percent over the previous year, and those movements including 17,540 instrument operations, and; WHEREAS, the tower operation greatly contributes to the safety of the thousands of people using Easterwood Airport, NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of College Station, representing the people of College Station, emphatically urges the Federal Aviation Administration to continue operation of the tower facility at Easterwood Airport for this growing community.
