%C.4.ERE.~S, the Brazos Valley Development Council has been given responsibility
for areawide Comprehensive Criminal Justice planning and coordination of
related areawide criminal justice a~d law enforcement matters; and
%CqER~S, the Texas Criminal Justice Council has indicated a willingness to
assist, through the Brazos Valley Development Council, local law enforcement
agencies in the purchase of certain radio communications equipment for law
enforcement purposes; and
¥~EREAS, the Brazos Valley Development Council has arrangements through the
Golden Crescent Council of Governments for the purchase of additional radio
equipment from Motorola, Inc., such equipment being required for the full
implementation of the regional communications plan;
};OW, T~EREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF College Station
TEXAS:
Section 1: That the Mayor/City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into an
agreement on behalf of the City of College S~ation with the Brazos
Valley Development Council for the joint purchase of the following additional
items of radio equipment for law enforcement purposes:
3 ea. Mobile Radio, ll0W, 4 channel @ $1,250 6ach
4 ea. Portable Radio, 5W, 4 channel @ $892 each
4 ea. Battery charger @ $31 each
Sectiom 2: That the City of College Station a~ree$ t~ pay to the
Brazos Valley Development Council a sum equivalent 25% of ~otal cost of said
items of radio co~umications equipment in accordance with the arrangements
between the Brazos Valley Development Council and Motorola, Inc., through
the Golden Crescen~ Council of Governments.
Section 3: Tha~ this resolutiom shall become effective upon its passage,
approval, and adoptio~.
