Recommendations for minor improvements will be, :he maintenance and develop- ment of the city's parks and recreational areas. College Station currently has seven city parks .and the Lin- coln Recreation Center. "In essence, .the responsibil- ities of the Parks and Recrea- tion Committee shall be to as- sist the city administration, through advice and recommen- dations, in providing its citizen- ry with the best park facilities possible compatible with its needs and abilities," the com- mittee's .policy states. Committee acts as an advisory body to the City Council con- cerning maintenance and im- provement of existing parks and recreational areas and the de- velopment of future parks and recreational areas. The committee is responsible for studying the city's growth patterns and planning for park development to meet the city's needs. The committee's policy states that. park development will be planned using the Bra- zos Area plan as a guideline.
