on October the lg, 1938 the Residents of College
Station, Texas voted to incorporate the City of
College Station, Texas; and
October of 1988 marks the 50th Anniversary of the
creation of our city; and
the significance of this milestone deserves to
be recognized; and
the citizens who participated in the election to
create our city deserve to be recognized; and
College Station has grown from that humble beginning
of a few hundred residents to a city of over
50,000 residents; and
College Station is recognized state wide as a
leader among city governments;
I Larry J. Ringer, Mayor of College Station do
here by proclaim October 19, 1988 as the official
birthday of our city and recognize this milestone
in our history.
