Present: Louis Hodges -  Marilyn Randall - E Sherry Frisk -  Gerald Burgner -  William Wright -  Shirley Dupriest -  Thomas Smith -  Julie Schultz - E David Fujimoto -  Linda Harvell; City Council -  Steve Wright; Parks Director -  Kelly Kelbly; Assistant Director -  Cory Raney; Staff Assistant II -  1. Called to order and announced a Quorum at 4 p.m. by Gerald Burgner • Marilyn Randall made a request for absence. Sherry Frisk made a motion to accept the absence request. Shirley Dupriest, second the motion. The vote was called, all were in favor, and the motion was passed unanimously. • Shirley Dupriest made a motion to approve the December minutes. Agenda Items 3.1 Presentation, discussion, and possible action on the proposal for a Texas Historic Marker for Parkland Dedication in the City of College Station. • Historic Marker Program: Nothing to report. • Removal Process/Protocol for Historic Markers: Gerald Burgner received the revisions from the committee and sent the protocol with revisions to Leslie Whitten in legal. He is waiting for review and response from Leslie Whitten. • Artifacts; Where Are They?: Linda Harvell suggested forming a “special research committee” to look through maps and other historic artifacts to help preserve the history of College Station. Gerald Burgner stated this discussion will be added to February’s agenda. The committee would like to meet on a Saturday to go through the artifacts at station 6. Kelly Kelbly spoke with Chief Mann previously on what the committee is wanting to do. Kelly Kelbly stated she will send Gerald Burgner his contact information and then Gerald Burgner will contact Chief Mann. More details on a meet date and time will be discussed with the committee later. • HPC Instagram: Shirley Dupriest could not get in touch with Jay Socol, however, spoke with Colin Killian. They discussed possibly having a social media page for historical homes. Colin Killian stated he liked the idea however, all potential postings would need to be run through the city, approved, and posted on one of the City’s platforms. Kelly Kelbly confirmed with Jay Socol the committee could come up with the postings and then the city would review, approve, and post it on one of the City’s social media platforms. William Wright suggested the committee should discuss possible postings during the monthly meeting. The committee introduced themselves to the new director as well. Gerald Burgner went over current discussions, as well as discussions on hold. 3.3 No upcoming events. 3.4 Lou Hodges presented a wooden ruler and a crease presser for letters made of ivory that was from his Grandfather who was an Architect. 4. Presentation & discussion on future agenda items. • Add “Special Research Committee” to February’s Agenda. • Cemetery Project will return to February’s Agenda. 5. Motion made to adjourn by Sherry Frisk, second by William Wright, and carried by unanimous vote at 5:10PM.
