Present: Louis Hodges -  Marilyn Randall -  Sherry Frisk - U Gerald Burgner -  William Wright -  Shirley Dupriest -  Thomas Smith - E Julie Schultz-  David Fujimoto -  Linda Harvell; City Council - E Kelly Kelbly; Interim Director- E Cory Raney; Staff Assistant II -  • Called to order and announced a Quorum at 4 p.m. by Gerald Burgner. • Thomas Smith made a request for absence. Marilyn Randall made a motion to accept the absence request. Shirley Dupriest, second the motion. The vote was called, all were in favor, and the motion was passed unanimously. • Shirley Dupriest made a motion to approve the November minutes. Louis Hodges, second the motion. The vote was called, all were in favor, and the motion was passed unanimously. • No Visitors Presentation, discussion, and possible action on the proposal for a Texas Historic Marker for Parkland Dedication in the City of College Station • Historic Marker Program: Shirley Dupriest stated she has three historic marker applications that she may need assistance with. There is a home that needs renovations, and the homeowners will look into funding and assistance for their renovations on the home. Shirley Dupriest is going to look into the application more to see if she can aid the applicants and will provide more information in January’s meeting. • Removal Process/Protocol for Historic Markers: Gerald Burgner created verbiage for the protocol process. The committee reviewed the document for corrections to be made. Gerald Burger stated he will email it out to the committee for further review and to get any changes sent back within a week. Also, Gerald Burgner will discuss the protocol with legal and provide feedback to the committee for approval. • Artifacts; Where Are They?: Nothing to report. More will be discussed in January’s meeting. • HPC Instagram: Shirley Dupriest stated she will meet with Jay Socol to discuss a possible social media account. More information will be discussed in January’s meeting. • Bringing Attention to College Station History: Shirley Dupriest suggested having signs with QR codes in front of historic homes to get information on the history. Gerald Burgner stated the committee would have to discuss and find funding for this project. Discussions on hold • Cemetery Project • Historic Marker Program • College Station Oral History Interviews & Educational Initiatives • Exploring History Lunch Series • Project Hold report • HPC Website • Historical Home Awareness • Historic Business Designation • Historic Award • Documentary for the City • Report by Parks Interim Director: Kelly Kelbly was not in attendance; however, the new Parks Director Steve Wright will start December 28th. • Per Julie Schultz Consal. is still having their centennial celebration and fundraising for the event. • No presentation and or discussions on historical items. • No future agenda items, the next meeting will be held Monday, January 4, 2021 at 4:00 PM. • Motion made to adjourn by William Wright, second by Marilyn Randall, and carried by unanimous vote at 4:42 PM
