AN ORDINANCE RENAMING MIDTOWN LOOP AS DURHAM LOOP, BIRD POND
ROAD WEST OF ROCK PRAIRIE ROAD AS TOWN LAKE DRIVE, PEBBLE CREEK
PARKWAY BETWEEN STATE HIGHWAY 6 AND LAKEWAY DRIVE AS
CORPORATE PARKWAY, AND LAKEWAY DRIVE BETWEEN STATE HIGHWAY 6
AND WILLIAM D. FITCH PARKWAY AS MIDTOWN DRIVE; PROVIDING A
SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of College Station, Texas (“City”) has made significant investment in public
infrastructure in the area bounded by State Highway 6, Rock Prairie Road, and William D. Fitch
Parkway to support development of the area; and
WHEREAS, the City is in the process of developing a business park in this area and the City
Council of the City has chosen to co-brand the business park with the adjacent Midtown mixed-
use development; and
WHEREAS, the proposed street name changes will enhance marketing efforts to help distinguish
the Midtown area in the City as a destination location; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City desires to rename Midtown Loop as Durham Loop, Bird
Pond Road west of Rock Prairie Road as Town Lake Drive, Pebble Creek Parkway between State
Highway 6 and Lakeway Drive as Corporate Parkway, and Lakeway Drive between State Highway
6 and William D. Fitch Parkway as Midtown Drive to support these efforts and as depicted in
Exhibit “A” attached hereto and incorporated herein for all purposes; and
WHEREAS, the property owners addressed on or with frontage to these roadways have been
notified of the proposed street name changes; now therefore
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION,
TEXAS:
PART 1: That the street currently named Midtown Loop be renamed Durham Loop as
graphically depicted as Area 1 in Exhibit “A” attached hereto and made a part of
this Ordinance for all purposes.
PART 2: That the street currently named Bird Pond Road west of Rock Prairie Road be
renamed Town Lake Drive as graphically depicted as Area 2 in Exhibit “A”
attached hereto and made a part of this Ordinance for all purposes.
PART 3: That the street currently named Pebble Creek Parkway between State Highway 6
and Lakeway Drive be renamed Corporate Parkway as graphically depicted as Area
3 in Exhibit “A” attached hereto and made a part of this Ordinance for all purposes.
PART 4: That the street currently named Lakeway Drive between State Highway 6 and
William D. Fitch Parkway be renamed Midtown Drive as graphically depicted as

Area 4 in Exhibit “A” attached hereto and made a part of this Ordinance for all
purposes.
PART 5: The City Manager or his designee is authorized to expend funds and to take all
measures reasonably necessary to give effect to the street name changes in
accordance with this Ordinance.
PART 6: If any provision of this Ordinance or its application to any person or circumstances
is held invalid or unconstitutional, the invalidity or unconstitutionality does not
affect other provisions or application of this Ordinance, that can be given effect
without the invalid or unconstitutional provision or application, and to this end the
provisions of this Ordinance are severable.
