Members present; Mayor Langford; Councilmen Ames, Badgett, Harrington and Orr;
City Secretary IicGinnis and City Manager Vaughn.
Visitors present; F. B. Clark, R. L. Jackson, A. P. Boyett, N. R. Burkhalter,
Mr. & Mrs. R. L. Broom, Guy F. Boyett, Sr., W. S. Edmunds, Reed Wipprecht and
T. G. Gorbet.
Most of the visitors present came to protest the rezoning of certain areas on
North Mair. Street from a residential district to a business district, as
advertised by the City Council. After some discussion the property owners
present agreed that it should be zoned to an apartment district. The City
will readvertise this change in the present zoning ordinance.
Councilman Badgett made a motion that the City negotiate with a competent
Engineering Company to make a complete survey and. plans for the utilities of the
City. This motion was seconded by Councilman Orr and the Council vote was
unanimous.
Councilman Orr made a motion to adopt Ordinance No. 116, an ordinance pertaining
to the charges to be made by the City for water and sewer connections. This
motion was seconded by Councilman Ames and the Council vote was unanimous.
Wx. Reed Wipprecht appealed to the Council for some improveiaont on hIoss Street
in College Hills.
Councilman Harrington expressed his appreciation and pleasure of workingfrith
the Council for the past several years.
