BRYAN COLLEGE STATION PUBLIC LIBRARY SYSTEM ADVISORY BOARD
July 17,2013
• On the 17th day of July,2013,the Bryan College Station Public Library System Advisory Board of the
cities of Bryan and College Station,Texas met in regular meeting at the Clara B.Mounce Public Library,
201 E.26th Street,Bryan, Texas.
1. Larry Ringer,President, called the meeting to order at 5:20 p.m. and the following were present:

3. Other attendees were Dr.Larry Koeninger,Library System Director; David Schmitz, City of College
Station Parks and Recreation Director;Joey Dunn, City of Bryan Deputy City Manager, and Laura Mills,
Adm.Asst. Gary Ives was a visitor.
4. The previous meeting minutes of May 2013 were approved as distributed.
5. The monthly stats for May and June were reviewed. It was noted that the people counter at Mounce
• was dysfunctional for most of May and the number of visitors is an estimate. There was a question on
Adult Programs/Attendance. The number of 2/20,005 will be corrected in the permanent records to
2/205.
6. In old business,Dr.Koeninger said the bids for the Mounce remodel were approved by the City
Council and awarded to Madison Construction. The Purchasing department will develop the contract and
Dr.Koeninger will meet with the contractor. The start date is September 9th. There will be some work to
get ready for the contractors including moving furniture, storing the dollhouse and piano and moving
bookshelves.
7. There is no update on the Ringer Library expansion.
8. Dr.Koeninger's librarian's report is attached.
9. Next meeting will be September 18th at the Carnegie History Center.
10. The meeting adjourned at 6:00 pm.
