BRYAN COLLEGE STATION PUBLIC LIBRARY SYSTEM ADVISORY BOARD
May 18,2016
•On the 18th day of May 2016,the Bryan College Station Public Library System Advisory Board of the cities of Bryan and
College Station,Texas met in a regular meeting at the Larry J Ringer Library, 1818 Harvey Mitchell Parkway South,
College Station,Texas.
1.President Larry J Ringer called the meeting to order at 5:26 p.m. and the following were present: (Note: A quorum was
present)

3. Others in attendance were Dr.Larry Koeninger, Library System Director;David Schmitz, College Station Parks and
Recreation Director; Heidi Krape,Library Administrative Assistant;Jessica Jones, Ringer Branch Manager; and Ken
Smith,Web Communications Specialist.
4. The minutes of the April 27,2016 meeting were approved as distributed.
The statistics for April were reviewed. Dr. Koeninger commented that April and May traditionally reflect a slow-down
in library traffic, but overall we continue to trend upwards.
6. In old business,David Schmitz reported that part of the Ringer Library expansion will include expansion of the rear
parking lot. Because this land borders park land, College Station will install a connecting trail between the library parking
lot and the park. The Ringer parking lot will also serve as overflow parking for the park.
7.Ken Smith showcased the library's new website. He uses Google Analytics to check page views, clicks, and more to
help us understand how people land on the site,what people are looking at on the site, and potential problems with the
site.The new site is 100%ADA compliant and is also mobile responsive—it will change based on the device being used
to view the site.Librarians will be able to change the widgets on the site based on current events.
8. Due to PCI compliance issues,we are not able to accept credit card donations yet. Library staff will continue to work
with Bryan's IT and Finance departments to implement this change.
9. Dr.Koeninger's Librarian report is attached.
10. The meeting adjourned at 6:05 p.m.
