On the 8th of March, 1978, the Library Board of the City of Bryan, Texas convened
in regular session in the regular meeting place in the Reference Room located in
the Library Building at 5 p.m. with the following members present.

Before convening, Mrs. Pringle presented Mrs. Mounce, the new Assistant City Librarian,
to the Board.
ITEM 1: The minutes of the February meeting were approved.
ITEM 2: Statistics were examined. It was noted that circulation increased from
41,085 to 43,936 this year.
ITEM 3: The booklist was approved.
ITEM 4: The annual report of the librarian was discussed and approved.
ITEM 5: The library insurance policy was discussed. Mr. Bryan directed the librarian
to examine the policy in regard to the books on the bookmobile to determine if
these books are covered by the policy, once they leave the library building.
ITEM 6: A reorganized statistical form was distributed and discussed. Board members
will bring comments and suggestions to the next meeting.
ITEM 7 : Since National Library Week will be April 2 through 8, Mrs. Harrison suggested
the library use the Friends of the Library video film to promote the library.
ITEM 8: The Houston filmro ram was discussed. The librarian was directed to discuss

with the city attorney, the film registration cards and how binding these forms
are.
e charge ITEM 9: The Board approved a system of implementing a 10 cent c arg to cover the cost
of a postcard in notifying patrons of reserve books.
