AUGUST 9, 1978

On the 9th of August, 1978, the Library Board of the City of Bryan, Texas convened
in regular session in the regular meeting place in the Reference Room located in
the Library Building at 5 p.m. with the following members present.

ITEM I: The minutes of the July meeting were approved as written.
ITEM 2: The statistics were examined and discussed.
ITEM 3: The booklist was accepted.
ITEM 4: Mayor Smith discussed the problem of patron complaints and the proper
procedures to handle these situations. The Board recommended that any
patron complaints be directed to the librarian.
ITEM 5: The Library Board feels that measures need to be taken to correct the
inadequate conditions existing in the library's basement. Mayor Smith
examined the basement and will recommend that the city engineer examine
this problem and make the necessary suggestions for improvement.
The meeting adjourned at 6:10 p.m.
