OF THE BRYAN LIBRARY BOARD
JULY 19 , 1994
'1 . On the 19th of July 1994 the Library Board of the City of Bryan, Texas
convened in a regular session at the Bryan Public Library at 5 : 15 p .m.

Also present was Mrs . Clara B . Mounce, City Librarian , and Mrs . Laura Mills,
secretary . Librarians present were Ms . Angela Alford , Ms . Kathleen Dill , Mrs .
Ann Moore, and Mrs . Nan Ross .
3. Mrs . Ragna Tolson was a visitor .
4 . The minutes were approved as mailed with one correction .
5 . The statistics for May and June were provided in the mailout .
6 . There were no committee reports .
7 . In the librarian ' s report, Mrs . Mounce reported that the Carnegie
Restoration Project, library automation , and a College Station bond issue for
II/the Branch Library are three important issues . The Carnegie project should be
started within six months . The Xeriscape project for the Carnegie managed by
the Water Dept . has about $30 , 000 in funds . Ms . Alford reported that the
Branch Library has registered 561 children in Summer Reading Club. If the
daily trend for circulation continues , monthly stats will show an increase in
circulation . Mrs . Dill reported that Summer Reading Club was going well and
average attendance at the activities was 255 . Puppet shows had been done for
summer school classes . Data conversion with Bibliofile is still underway .
Ms . Moore reported that two JTPA workers had helped in circulation this
summer . Changes have been made in circulation with the retirement of Mary
Woelfel . Mrs . Ross reported that reference questions increased in the past
two months and that Anne Peterson is a new reference librarian.
8 . There was no unfinished business .
9 . A. New library board members were introduced.
10 . There were no requests for items for agenda.
