OF THE BRYAN LIBRARY BOARD
MARCH 16 , 1993
•1 . On the 16th of March , 1993 the Library Board of the City of Bryan, Texas
convened in a regular session in the Bryan Library auditorium at 5 : 15 p.m.

Also present was Mrs . Clara B. Mounce, City Librarian.
3 . There were no visitors .
4. The minutes were approved as mailed.
5 . The statistics for January and February were provided in the mailout.
6 . There were no committee reports .
7 . The Librarian ' s report included comments about the Central Texas Library
System Long Range Plan. She served as chairman of the committee for the past
18 months . New computers that run the CD union catalog are at the Reference
desks in Bryan and College Station. They were purchased by the Friends of the
Library . New purchases by the Friends also include two youth services desks
and a new telephone book stand . The generous contributions of Eugene Edge to
the genealogy collection were discussed .
8 . A. Wagner & Klein presented the preliminary master plan to a workshop
meeting of the City Council on March 9 . It is estimated that about $500 , 000
will be need to restore the building. Fund raising ideas were made by several
board members .
9 . A . The president appointed Elaine Vance and herself to a nominating
committee for new officers . Mrs . Tolson and Mrs . Vance are finishing their
six years on the Library Board.
B . Mrs . Vance announced the date of the Friends of the Library annual
meeting as April 20 , 1993 at 7 p .m. in the auditorium of the library . Dr .
Dale Knobel will present a program on Bryan ' s historic buildings .
10 . There were no requests for items for the agenda.
11 . The meeting adjourned at 6 : 30 p .m.
