MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING
OF THE BRYAN LIBRARY BOARD
MAY 18, 1993
1 . On the 18th of May, 1993 the Library Board of the City of Bryan, Texas
convened in a regular session in the Bryan Library auditorium at 5 : 15 p.m.

Also present was Mrs. Clara B. Mounce, City Librarian, and Mrs . Laura Mills,
secretary .

4 . The minutes were approved as mailed.
5 . The statistics for March and April were provided in the mailout.
6 . The nominating committee report recommended Vickie Bienski for President,
and Neil Bockelmann for Vice President. Mrs . Bienski and Mr. Bockelmann were
elected to office.
7 . In the Librarian ' s report, Mrs. Mounce stated that reorganization of the
librarian ' s positions had been approved. The Associate City Librarian' s
position had been eliminated and responsibilities delegated to upgraded
librarian' s positions . Mrs . Mounce reported that the Branch Library had
acquired building cleaning service that relieved a general clerk ' s duties
in that area.
8 . A. The final draft of the architect' s master plan for the Carnegie Library
will be presented to the City Council upon completion. Fund raising projects
and grants are being considered for the project by the Carnegie Restoration
Committee and the Friends of the Library .
9 . The meeting adjourned at 6 : 30 p.m.
Members of the Library Board presented Mrs . Tolson and Mrs . Vance with an
engraved paper weight in recognition of six years service.
