OF THE BRYAN LIBRARY BOARD
July 21 , 1992
Ilk . On the 21st of July, 1992, the Library Board of the City of Bryan, Texas
convened in a regular session in Bryan Library auditorium at 5 : 00 p .m. and the
following members were present :

Also present were Mrs . Clara B. Mounce, City Librarian; Ms . Alice Nixon,
Associate City Librarian .
3. There were no visitors .
4 . The minutes of the May 19 , 1992 meeting were approved .
5 . The statistics for May and June, 1992, were provided in the mailout.
May statistics showed 61 TCILL requests were completed in that month, and 93
in June. Circulation for June increased significantly at both libraries .
6 . Mrs . Mounce reported that the Bryan Historic Landmark Commission had held
�a noon meeting on July 20 and a report on the RFP for a masterplan for the
arnegie was discussed briefly .
7 . In the librarian ' s report, Mrs. Mounce that Ms. Judy Buys , hired in June,
left to accept a position in Louisiana. Applications are being received to
replace her . The Branch Library has a vacant position for a part time clerk .
A summary of the summer reading club stated that 2,435 children have
registered and 198 certificates have been issued.
Average attendance at the Wednesday activities has been more than 300 .
8 . In unfinished business , the RFP for a master plan for the restoration of
to the Carnegie was discussed. Deadline for proposals is Aug. 7 , and a
committee will be reviewing them shortly after that time.
9 . In new business , two new members of the library board, Dr . David David and
Jim Aldredge introduced themselves.
10 . In request for items for agenda, the president, Mrs . Tolson, asked that
the Sept. 15 meeting be held in the Carnegie Library. Mrs . Tolson stated she
would invite Mayor Tate to attend along with the new City Manager , Dr . John
Blackburn and Councilperson Larry Catlin .
11 . The meeting adjourned at 6 : 00 p.m.
