On the 21st of May, 1991 , the Library Board of the City of Bryan, Texas convened in a regular session in the Library auditorium at 5 : 05 p .m. and the following members were present: 2 . Alice Nixon, Associate City Librarian, and Mrs . Laura Mills , secretary . 3. There were no visitors . 4 . The minutes of the March 19 , 1991 meeting were approved as presented . 5 . The statistics for March and April , 1991 were reviewed . April showed a 12% increase in circulation at the main library . Circulation at the Branch continued to increase. About 50% of the materials checked out are adult items and 50% juvenile . The Bryan Library statistics show that 66% circulation is adult materials , and 33% juvenile items . 6 . There were no committee reports . 7 . In the librarian' s report, Mrs . Mounce informed the Library Board that additional personnel and hours will be requested in the College Station budget package . A progress report on the data conversion project at the main library indicates about 12% or 14, 000 items have been added on floppy discs from the shelf list holdings . 8 .A.There was no unfinished business . 9 A. In new business , the City Librarian stated that a nominating committee should be appointed to recommend a new president since the current President, Mildred Thomas , will have served the maximum amount of terms ending the last of May . Mrs . Thomas and Mrs . Carolyn Alford were appointed to the nominating committee to report to the Board at the next meeting . B .Alice Nixon reported that plans for the Summer Reading Club 1991 , Camp Wanna-Read have been made . A festival on June 5 featuring various fun activities will kick-off the registration and weekly Wednesday activities . C.The City Librarian reported that about the library will receive about $60 ,000 from the Bernath legacy . 10 . There were no requests for items for the agenda. +11 .
