On the 20th of March , 1990 , the Library Board of the City of Bryan, Texas convened in a regular session in the Library auditorium at 5 : 05 p .m. , and the following members were present . 2 . The minutes for January were approved. 5 . Statistics for January and February were reviewed . Mrs . Mounce stated that circulation for the Branch Library was up but that • circulation per full time employee was not as much as the Main Library . 6 . There were no committee reports . 7 . The City Librarian reported that with salary savings during this fiscal year , we would be hiring a 20-hour part time general clerk to shelve books . She commented that interviews were scheduled at the Texas Library Association Conference for a reference librarian . The City Librarian stated that the College Station Capital Improvement Committee ranked a new College Station Library at 18th on the list of priorities . Much discussion is underway on what will be the best plan to pursue. 8 . In unfinished business , Mrs . Mounce reported that Linda Ellerbee would speak at the Annual Friends of the Library Meeting on March 31st at the Bryan Civic Center . The event will be a joint meeting of the Friends of the Bryan Public Library celebrating 20 years of library service in the present building and 20 years of the formation of the Sterling Evans Friends ' group . Judge W. T. McDonald Jr . will introduce Linda Ellerbee after a reception and business meetings of both groups . Local businesses contributing to the reception are Brazos Blue Ribbon Bakery, Dairy Queen, and Mary Newton ' s Kaffeeklatsch . 9 . In new business , John Harer has applied for a grant from American Library Association for a fax machine for library services at the Women ' s Prison Camp in Bryan.
