OF THE BRYAN LIBRARY BOARD
January 16, 1990
1 . On the 16th of January, 1990 , the Library Board of the City of
Bryan, Texas convened in a regular session in the Library auditorium
at 5 : 05 p .m. , and the following members were present.

3. No visitors were present .
4. The minutes for November were approved.
5 . Statistics for November and December were reviewed. Mrs . Mounce
• noted that circulation in the adult collection was slightly down
whereas the children ' s circulation was up. Circulation for the
Branch Library increased.
6 . There were no committee reports .
7 . The City Librarian stated that the Committee Report for the College
Station Library recommended a library site on Rock Prairie Rd. ,
shared automation, reciprocal borrowing, and shared patron files .
City Council members must now decide if it will be put on the ballot
for May as a bond issue of some 4 1/2 million dollars .
8 . In unfinished business, Mrs . Mounce reported the library ' s annual
report for 1988-89 has been submitted to the Texas State Library .
More than 13, 000 videocassettes circulated in that year .
9 . Under new business, Mrs. Mounce announced that Elaine Vance was
appointed chair of the Carnegie Restoration Committee. Ms. Mounce
was appointed secretary . The committee is awaiting a structural
integrity test to be accomplished.
10. The City Librarian explained a change in library procedure for lost
and damaged materials . If a patron desired the damaged item he hid
paid for, he would be given the item. Board members recommended this
change be adopted .
11 .There were no requests for the next agenda.
12 .The meeting adjourned at 6 : 15 P .M.
