HomeMy WebLinkAbout05/15/1990 - Regular Minutes - Bryan College Station Library System Advisory Board MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE BRYAN LIBRARY BOARD May 15, 1990 1 . On the 20th of March, 1990, the Library Board of the City of Bryan, Texas convened in a regular session in the Library auditorium at 5:05 p.m. , and the following members were present. 2. No visitors were present. 4. The minutes for March were approved. 5. Statistics for March and April were reviewed. Mrs. Mounce commented that circulation for the Branch Library increased 3,000 in March. 111/ 6. There were no committee reports. 7. The City Librarian reported that the $75,000 from the sale of the old Eagle building was still in escrow with the City and that part of the money will be used to replace the windows on the north side of the building which produce excessive condensation and to recarpet the first floor area using carpet tiles. Mrs. Mounce stated that a people counter had been purchased by the Friends of the Library and installed at both entrances of the building. She informed the board that White House Conferences would be held in 1991 in Washington, D.C. On September 6th, a regional conference would be held at the Bryan Library in conjunction with the event. Board members will be invited to attend. Regarding the College Station Library, discussion is still underway on possible sites and proposed plans for the library 8. There was no unfinished business. 9. A. The Sumner Reading Club will kick-off on June 6 with a Chalk- around-the Block and 4-H petting zoo. Each child will set a goal of the number of hours they expect to read rather than the number of books as done in the past. B.
