On the 19th of September, 1989, the Library Board of the City of Bryan, Texas convened in a regular session in the • Library auditorium at 5 :05 p.m. , and the following members were present . 2 . The minutes for July were approved as presented. 5 . Statistics for July and august were reviewed. Mrs . Mounce noted that in the August statistics for the Branch, days open this year should be 22 days , not 27 days . 6 . There were no committee reports . Mrs . Alford appointed Dr . Knobel and Mrs . Vance to look into the possibility of recommending that money in escrow with the City of Bryan from the sale of the old Eagle building be spent for library building improvements . 7 . In the librarian' s report , Mrs . Mounce reported that a possible date for a celebration is Nov. 17 . However, no plans have been finalized. City Librarian reported that bids for the furniture and equipment for the expansion of the branch library have been requested. 8 . A. In unfinished business , Mrs . Mounce reported that the final Budget conference is set for Oct . 3 . Funds for modification of the existing handicapped ramps and sidewalks on the south side of the building and magnetic windows to reduce condensation are included in the proposed budget . B. 0 The circulation furniture was installed the latter part of August; however a few details are not complete. C. Mrs . Williams reported that the Summer Reading Club was a success with 1 , 841 registered participants and a 27% rate of completion. Attendance at the weekly programs was excellent . 9. In new business , Mrs . Mounce stated that the Friends of the Library would hold their annual Book Sale at Manor East Mall on Oct . 5 , 6, 7 . She encouraged Board members to contribute time working at the sale. 10 . There were no requests for items for the agenda. 11 .
