OF THE BRYAN LIBRARY BOARD
• November 14, 1988
1 . On the 14th of November 1988, the Library Board of the City of
Bryan, Texas, convened in a regular session in the regular place in the
library auditorium at 5:10 p.m. and the following members were present:

Also present were Mrs. Clara B. Mounce, City Librarian; Mrs. Jerilynn
Williams, Associate City Librarian, and Mrs. Laura Mills, secretary.
3. No visitors were present.
4. The minutes for October were approved as presented.
0 5. Statistics for September and October were reviewed.
6. There were no committee reports.
7. In the librarian's report, Mrs. Mounce announced that the Friends
of the Library has approved the expenditure of funds to reburbish and
remodel the circulation area. The Friends have also voted to purchase
software to start data converstion for the library collection that will
eventually lead to a fully automated library.
Mrs. Mounce stated that the funds to recarpet the children's
library section are available in 1988-89 fiscal year and the proposal
is being prepared.
The City Librarian reported that the library had received from the
MacArthur Foundation a grant of $3,000 for educational videocassettes.
8. There was no unfinished business.
9. The Board discussed some possible activities for observance of the
library's 20th anniversary in 1989. A reception in the library
auditorium on the library's actual anniversary was one suggestion.
10. Requests for items for the agenda included further discussion of
the library's anniversary observance.
