• OF THE BRYAN LIBRARY BOARD
DECEMBER 16, 1981
The Bryan Library Board of Trustees met in regular session December 16, 1981.
Present were Mrs. Bookman Peters, Mrs. R. H. Harrison, III, Mrs. C. J. Allen, Mrs.
Willie Belle Bogard, and Mrs. Willie Pruitt.
Excused were Mr. Vic Paulos and Mr. Mickey McGuire.
The Minutes of the November meeting were approved as mailed. Mrs. Jean Muetzel,
Librarian I, was introduced. She talked about her background in library work and her
educational qualifications. Mrs. Muetzel has a masters degree in library science from
Kent State University, Kent, Ohio. Her B. A. in French and Spanish is from the Mount
Union College, Alliance, Ohio. Mrs. Muetzel will be working with adult services when
a librarian is hired taotake over the Bookmobile.
• Emergency procedures for the library staff were discussed. Lt. Bobby Riggs,
of the Bryan Police Department recently conducted a session on safety procedures in
the library and when leaving the building at nighttime.
Fire Inspector Weldon Watkins of the Bryan Fire Department recently conducted
a discussion of emergency procedures in case of fire for members of the library staff.
The meeting closed at 6:45 p.m.

On the 16th of December, 1981, the Library Board of the City of Bryan, Texas convened
in regular session in the regular meeting place in the Reference Room located in the
Library Building at 5 p.m. with the following members present.

ITEM 1. The minutes of the November meeting were approved as mailed.
ITEM 2. Mrs. Jean Muetzel, Librarian I was introduced to the Board. She gave her
background in library work and her educational qualifications.
ITEM 3. The librarian informed the Board that the library staff had had a safety
session conducted by Police Lt. Bobby Riggs.
