OF THE BRYAN LIBRARY BOARD
APRIL 10, 1979

The Bryan Library Board of Trustees met in regular session on April 10, 1979 in
the librarian 's office.
Present were Mrs, R. J. Holmgreen, President of the Board, Mr. Travis B. Bryan,
Jr,,Mrs. Willie Pruitt, Mrs. R. H. Harrison, III, Mrs. Bookman Peters, Mrs. Jesse
Flores and Mrs. C. J. Allen.
Under regular business, the minutes of the March meeting were approved as written.
Mrs. Harrisgn moved acceptance of the book list and Mrs. Peters seconded it.
The Oral History Program was again discussed, and several names were submitted
as possible people to contact about helping with this program.
The collection agent, for the time period of 3/19/79 to 3/31/79 collected books
and fines amounting to $809.77. His salary and mileage for this period was $107.70.
The librarian is very pleased with his work and considers this to be a successful
• program.
The Texas Library Association annual meeting was held in San Antonio April 4 through
7, 1979. The librarian discussed highlights of this meeting with the Board.
The Friends of the Library annual luncheon will be held April 17, 1979 at the Brazos
Center, Dr. Haskell Monroe will be the featured speaker..
A memorial fund has been established by W. R. Dede. Matthews in memory of his
brother--in=-,law, Carol Caldwell. This fund will be used to purchase books about the
history and building of weapons.
The meeting adjourned at 6:00 p.m.

On the 10th of April, 1979, the Library Board of the City of Bryan, Texas convened
in regular session in the regular meeting place in the Reference Room located in the
Library Building at 5 p.m. with the following members present.
