OF THE BRYAN LIBRARY BOARD
MARCH 15, 1979
The Bryan Library,Bbard of Trustees met in regular session on March 15, 1979 in
the librarians office.
Present were Mrs.R. J. Holmgreen, President of the Board, Mrs. Willie Pruitt,
Mrs. R. H. Harrison, III, and Mrs. Bookman Peters.
Absent were Mr. Travis B. Bryan, Jr. , Mrs. Jesse Flores, and Mrs. C. J. Allen.
Under regular business, the minutes of the Feburary meeting were approved as
written.
Mrs. Pruitt moved acceptance of the booklist and Mrs. Harrison seconded it.
Under old business, the librarian reported on her meeting with the Bryan City
Council concerning the collection agent's contract.
• After discussion and questioning the council approved this contract.
Mrs. Holmgreen reported on the meeting with Mr. Ernest Clark, City Manager and
Mr. Travis Bryan, concerning the Blinn College situation. Mr. Clark is interested
in pursuing this matter and will meet with the librarian about this problem.
Copies of the 1977-78 annual report were distributed.
The Library Board commended the librarian on designing this unique)informative
report.
Mrs. Pringle informed the Board that a pay telephone will be installed in the
foyer of the library. This will alleviate the constant usage of the library's
business telephone.
Mrs. Peters discussed starting an oral history tape collection from area citizens.
Mrs. Pringle will contact the RSVP organization, and local historical groups
and report back to the Board.
The meeting adjourned at 6:20 p.m.
