Historic Preservation Committee

1. Called to order and announced a Quorum @ 4 pm.
2. Andrea Smith,Chantal Vessali and Benjamin Zimmer were introduced as new members to the Historic
Preservation Committee.
3. Michael Hardy requested an absence and it was approved by the committee.
4. The committee voted unanimously to approve the minutes.
5. Jerry Cooper and students from Blinn College were present and spoke during Hear Visitors.
6. Katherine Edwards mailed out 27 letters to the historic home owners on the tour and she has received
15 responses back. She is putting together a follow-up letter that she will mail out ASAP.
7. The American Mile brick project is almost complete.
No new marker applications have been received.
Brooke is working on transcribing oral history videos from previous mayors and council members.
The committee decided that we will not host a lunch lecture in December. Our Marketing
Coordinator will be putting together a hand out of all the upcoming Lunch Lectures for the
remainder of the year.
No Website discussion.
Brooke Linsenbardt is working on updating Project Hold so that it is more user friendly for the
public and less busy. She is also going through and scanning documents and is hoping to have
volunteers to help soon.
8. Kelly Kelbly had nothing to report.
9. Living History Weekend at the Museum of the American G.I. is coming up March 25-26.
10. No items for the next agenda.
11. Some members brought items to pass around.
