Welcome New Ciunraittee Mem" rs: C1 iirman,Bill Lay called the meet, to
order at 14:02am. The committee was introduced to the new mcmbers,
IL Orientation for New Con mittee Members: Marci Rodgers gave a brief
introduction on the history of the cotrnnittee and it's purpose. Notebooks were
distributed to the new members. The goals an41 4 sion statement for the
coin n ate were reviewed. The new members were also informed on the
Eisenhower Leadership Development ,srogram. Each con ittee member will
receive a copy of the Eisenhower report.
Carol Parzen reported on the Senior Friendly Business Award prigm. and gam
the new members a description of the award and the pumose. She also pointed out
the July issue of The Golden Eagle which featured the first award recitient,
Kroger Signature Store.
III. Approval of Minutes from June Meeting: The cola 1 littee approved the i flutes as
distribute*.
IV. Girls 10 and Tinier State Tournament: August 7— 12: Volunteers were requested
to host an information Mole at the state tournament the city is sponsoring. Sixty
teams u e expected to participate. Mary Jo r d Bill Lay eagerly volunteered to
distribute flyers and provide information to our guests on Tuesday, August 7th at
Bee Creek Park where the opening ceremonies will be held.
V. Consideration,of a nouuation for Senior Friendly tusiness Award: Coirni iittee
members received a nomination for the award and So Yeager explained why
the nominee should be consiiered. Discussion took place and Carol Parzen moved
that the item be tabled. Phyllis Dozier seconded the motion. The motion passed.
