Regular Meeting

MINUTES
Members Present: Margaret Carmichael, Jon Denton, Frank Duchmasclo, Ann Hays, Susan
McGrail, Robert Meyer, Pearl Robertson, Ron Silvia and Pat Vanderboom
Members Absent: Jerry Markowich
Staff Present: Peter Lamont and Marci Rodgers
I.Call to order
The meeting was called to order at 10:02am by Frank Duchmasclo,
Chairman
II.Welcome and hear visitors
No visitors present
III.Approval of minutes from regular meeting on October 29, 2012
Ron Silvia made
the motion to approve the minutes. Ann Hays seconded the motion. The motion
passed unanimously.
IV.Discussion, consideration and possible action concerning program sub-
committee report regarding upcoming programs and events
Bob Meyer, Pearl
Robertson, Pat Vanderboom, Susan McGrail and Joanna Yeager met on November
20, 2012 to discuss the December calendar. The calendar was distributed to the
committee. Highlights for December include the Senior Pageant at Lincoln Center on

December 8 from 6:00-9:00pm and the Holiday Open House at Southwood
th
Community Center on December 12 from 10-12 noon. Christmas at the Creek will
have live performances on November 30 and December 1, 7 & 8 from 6:00 – 9:00
th
pm. The movie “Silver Bells will be shown on December 20 at Southwood starting
at 1:00 pm along with popcorn.The sub-committee will meet next month on
th
December 11 at 9:30 am at Southwood. Frank Duchmasclo, Chairman, thanked the
program sub-committee for their work.
V.Discussion and possible action concerning the Senior Advisory Committee Goals
FY 2012 and 2013.
Frank Ducmasclo reviewed the goals for 2012 and asked for
volunteers to serve on a sub-committee to discuss goals for 2013. Jon Denton and
Robert Meyer agreed to meet and discuss possible goals for the committee to consider
for 2013. Frank Duchmasclo, Chairman, will meet with the goal sub-committee next
month.
VI.Presentation, possible action and discussion on Senior Services Coordinator
Report regarding current and upcoming programs and events (report attached)
Marci Rodgers distributed the November Senior Services Report. Attendance figures
for October were presented. Members from the committee were asked to help with
th.
the Open House on December 12 Frank Duchmasclo and Ann Hays agreed to work
the Senior Advisory Committee information table from 10 – 12:00 noon. Members
were encouraged to help distribute the flyers on the event and invite individuals to the
Open House to learn more about activities offered at the center for senior adults.
Refreshments, door prizes and entertainment will be part of the fun.
VII.Presentation, discussion and possible action on future agenda items: A
Committee member may inquire about a subject for which notice has not been
given. A statement of specific factual information or the recitation of existing
policy may be given. Any deliberation shall be limited to a proposal to place the
subject on an agenda for a subsequent meeting.
Next Meeting Date:
Margaret Carmichael made the motion that the Senior
Advisory Committee not meet in December. Jon Denton seconded the
motion. The motion passed unanimously.
Agenda Items for the January meeting: Senior Games report and goals sub-
committee report.
