Members Present: Pat VanderBoom, Robert Meyer, Ann Hays, Joanna Yeager, Frank
Duchmasclo, Susan McGrail, Jon Denton and Pearl Robertson
Members Absent: E.E. Burns, Jerry Markowich and Ron Silvia
Staff Present: David Gerling and Marci Rodgers
I.Call to order
The meeting was called to order at 10:00 am by Joanna Yeager,
Chairman
II.Hear visitors
No visitors
III.Approval of minutes from regular meeting on March 26, 2012
Ann Hays made
the motion to approve the minutes. Frank Duchmasclo seconded the motion. The
motion passed unanimously.
IV.Discussion, consideration and possible action concerning program sub-
committee report regarding upcoming programs and events

met on April 10The committee reviewed the May calendar. Pat VanderBoom,
Robert Meyer and Joanna Yeager agreed to serve on the program sub-committee and
attend regular monthly meetings. The committee will be working with the Historic
Preservation Committee to determine the topics and speakers for the 2013
Lunch/Lecture series.
V.Report, possible action, and discussion concerning update presented to the Parks
and Recreation Advisory Board on Senior Programs
Frank Duchmasclo reported

that he and Joanna Yeager attended the April 10 meeting of the Parks and
Recreation Advisory Board and gave an update on attendance figures for senior
programs. Ms. Yeager presented an overview to the board on the accomplishments of
the Senior Advisory Committee for the benefit of the new members. Mr.
Duchmasclo discussed the importance of keeping the goal of a senior center before
the board and city council.
VI.Update and discussion regarding Senior Advisory Committee Goals
The committee discussed the goal to establish and permanent Senior Center in
College Station. The description used for the community center on the 2008 bond
election will be presented at the next meeting.
VII.Presentation, possible action and discussion on Senior Services Coordinator
Report regarding upcoming programs and events

VIII.Presentation, discussion and possible action on future agenda items: A
Committee member may inquire about a subject for which notice has not been
given. A statement of specific factual information or the recitation of existing
policy may be given. Any deliberation shall be limited to a proposal to place the
subject on an agenda for a subsequent meeting.
