SUBJECT: Recommendation for Joint City-School Project
At our regular meeting of theJ'arksl•Recreation .Board on May 8, 1979,
several A&M. Consolidated SchooT .officials' presented.a plan for the devel
. ,
opment of playground facilities at South Knoll and Callege'.Hills elementary
schools. These officials included Dr';.*H.R. Burnett, B.B. Holland, Dr.
Bruce Robeck and Ann Jones.

After presentation of the two proposed 'Projects and much discussion by
the Board, the following recommendations were made= 11 That a committee
be established with representatives frgm:both the A&M Consolidated School.
District and the City of College Stationtoadvise and coordinate these.
and other future projects.„. 2) That the:Board recommend to the City Council
the appropriation of funds for the construction of_the .projetts at South
Knoll and College.Hilis .Elementary Schoolsnotto 'exceed 4 total of
$25,000. ' ,

further recommend thatite-City develotronger-Iles. with the school
district in all areas where facilitiesare presently shared. We need
definite policies and proceedures set forthconcerningsuch items as
maintenance of these facilities, utility costs., responsibilities, etc.
Please advise me as to what actions the School officials need to take,
if any, to present their plans. I am attaching copies of both plans
for your consideration.
