HomeMy WebLinkAbout08/14/2007 - Regular Minutes - Cemetery Advisory Committee COLLEGE STATION CEMETERY COMMITTEE REGULAR MEETING MINUTES Tuesday, August 14, 2007, 12:00PM Utility Customer Service Training Room 310 Krenek Tap Road STAFF PRESENT: Ross Albrecht, Forestry Superintendent; Amanda Putz, Secretary; Robert Hole, Cemetery Sexton MEMBERS PRESENT: Sarah Adams, Chair; James Batenhorst, David Chester, Virginia Reese, RC. Slocum, Weldon Kruger MEMBERS ABSENT: Don Braune, Joe Wallace, Randy Matson VISITORS PRESENT: Michael Martin, Project Manager, Edwards and Kelcey Call to order: 1. The meeting was called to order at 12:13 p.m. Requests for absences of members: 2. Don Braune and Randy Matson had sent in absence requests. David Chester made a motion to approve the absence requests submitted. R.C. Slocum seconded the motion. The vote was called. All were in favor and the motion passed unanimously. Swearing in and oath of office for new and re-appointed Cemetery Committee 3. members: Amanda Putz, secretary; swore in Sarah Adams, Chair; and Virginia Reese to their re-appointment into the Cemetery Advisory Committee. Presentation, possible action, and discussion on the approval of Cemetery Advisory 4. Committee minutes: July 24, 2007 Cemetery Committee Meeting Minutes - August 3, 2007 Cemetery Committee Meeting Minutes - Weldon Kruger moved to approve the minutes and James Batenhorst seconded the motion. The vote was called. All were in favor, and the motion passed unanimously. Presentation, possible action, and discussion on a variance request for placement of 5. a double monument on two cremate spaces in Section LR. (Family #2366: Willard, Dorothy E.: Discussion was held within the committee about the meeting that was held between Sarah Adams and Perrone family at the College Station Cemetery. (Sarah Adams met the Perrones’ at the cemetery) There was discussion on making changes to the ordinance for monuments. This was an informational item. No action was taken. Update, possible action, and discussion from the City Council Meeting held on 6. August 6, 2007: Ross Albrecht explained to the committee what happened at the City Council meeting, where he made a presentation. Presentation, possible action, and discussion on amenities to be included in Phase I 7. of the Memorial Cemetery of College Station: Michael Martin, Project Manager, showed a power-point of the Phase I design and the amenities. Discussion was held. This was an informational item and no action was taken. Presentation, possible action, and discussion on future agenda items: A Committee 8. member may inquire about a subject for which notice has not been given. A statement of specific factual information or the recitation of existing policy may be given. Any deliberation shall be limited to a proposal to place the subject on an agenda for a subsequent meeting: - September 11, 2007, 12:00 p.m., Status Meeting - October 9, 2007, 12:00 p.m., Status Meeting Hear visitors: 9. Hearing none, this item was closed. Adjourn: 10. Weldon Kruger made a motion to adjourn the meeting, and David Chester seconded the motion. The vote was called. All were in favor, and the motion passed unanimously. The meeting adjourned at 1:28 p.m.
